Valentines Day Projects

During a search of craft papers the other day I came across a Hot off the Press book of Sarapapers I had forgotten I had. Papers themed to co-ordinate in shades of red and black. Perfect for my Valentines Day projects. The first one is a pocket with a "Love" theme. On the inside I used a black sheet of paper which had words printed on it. I positioned part of the sheet at the bottom so that the word Memories could be seen when the pocket is closed. Challenge was to include a message and heart inside the envelope. Decided to use a Penny Black sentiment stamp "Within your heart keep one, still, secret spot where dreams may go." I had great fun at Christmas making Tim Holtz 12 days of Christmas tags and bought a seasonal set of grungeboard. Included in this set along with the Christmas pieces were some hearts, a cupid and lots of lovely letters. I stamped a patterned stamp on the hearts in Versamark inkpad and then embossed in black. Coloured in the heart in red inkpad. Another treasure I found while on my travels was some paper lace, perfect -just right to colour in with inkpad and coloured some in red and black for my pocket.

Second project is a tag. I love making tags. I have only just started experimenting with grungeboard and stamped the cupid in versamark and then added gold embossing powder. I think this is my favourite thing. I find it magical watching the colour change as you heat the powder. Covered my tag in black and red paper on the reverse and added LOVE to it together with my magical gold cupid . I have attached him to the tag with a red ribbon and added a heart embellishment.
