Autumn

Not sure where the time has gone but Autumn is now here. Have been searching through my stamp collection and found some beautiful stamps by Dark Room Door, Hobby Art, Personal Impressions and Hero Arts. Just right to make some autumn themed tags. A long time since I last posted on this blog and hope to get back to some crafting now. Not sure where the time goes. Hope to be back again soon with some more ideas.

A Compendium of Curiosities Challenge Week 6

Doesnt seem possible but we are up to week 6 in the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge. This week the technique is "Multi-Medium Collage" details to be found in Tim Holtz Compendium of Curiosities book page 66. Now where shall I start I thought what can I alter. A while ago I joined in a matchbox challenge. The idea was to decorate a large matchbox and fill it with embellishments and swap it. I received a beautiful matchbox filled with all sorts of goodies. Three of these goodies were metal flowers. Been having a sort out too and found some script paper. Not sure where I found this but it has a lovely row of buttons on it. Covered my tag and added Distress Ink Aged Mahogany. The sentiment stamp is from the Tim Holtz Collection love that sentiment. Added some gems to the centre of the flowers and a couple on some of the buttons. I love this challenge -thank you Linda for setting it up. Look forward to trying out all the techniques in the Compendium. Why not pop along to Studio L3 and see all the entries they are brilliant.

Sunday Stampers Challenge "Journey"

This week the theme on the Sunday Stampers challenge is "Journey". I bought a wooden calender some time ago from the Craft Barn and have been wondering how to decorate it. I havent done a lot of altered art before and decided to experiment. I painted the stand in Eco friendly Lake blue paint and then once it was dry stamped on it using black stazon ink. I used PaperArtsy stamps from the Hotpick HP1005 and a Journey stamp from the Tim Holtz collection. Added some broken china distress ink and Viva Inka gold paint at the edges. Added some gold and crystal stickles. Really enjoyed painting and now the summer holidays are here cant wait to alter more things.

Week 5 A Compendium of Curiosities

This week the Compendium of Curiosities challenge is "Distress Powder". Instructions can be found on page 43 of Tim Holtz Compendium of Curiosities. Havent tried this before confess have had the powder and not experimented with it. I used Tattered Rose and Milled Lavender distress powders. Have used Paperartsy stamps from sheet 1005. Really love the texture effect and now have plans to experiment with them. I added a metal butterfly made from Magic Metal Copper sheet. I love this as when you heat it the colour changes. Have a look on Studio L3 blog to take a look at all the etries. Wonderful ideas. Thank you Linda for the challenge.

A Compendium of Curiosities Week 4

This week the Compendium of Curiosities challenge is Shabby Chic (page 49). I found this quite difficult but here are my tags. On the darker tag I used a paperartsy stamp, prima rose and lace leaves. I used lake eco-friendly acrylic paint. On the lighter tag I used a Studio 490 floral stamp and some Tim Holtz metal foliage. Very different backgrounds but using the same technique.
